Cannes Film Festival 2023: Film Premieres, Parties and Awards Gallery

The 76th edition of the Cannes film festival concludes today with the Closing Ceremony and presentation of the coveted award, the Palme d’Or which was awarded to Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall.

The Jury, presided over by director Ruben Östlund and includes director Maryam Touzani, actor Denis Ménochet, writer/director Rungano Nyoni, actress/director Brie Larson, actor/director Paul Dano, writer Atiq Rahimi, director Damián Szifron and director Julia Ducournau, selected the winners from the 21 films in Competition this year.

The Closing Ceremony marks the end of the 76th Festival de Cannes, and was followed by the screening of Peter Sohn‘s film Elementary in the Grand Théâtre Lumière.

The last 2 weeks the Croisette has been a buzz with extravagant parties and bold fashion statements captured at the 21 world premieres on the Palais des Festivals red carpet.

Johnny Depp's period drama Jeanne Du Barry opened the festival with other highlight premieres from this year's slate including Pedro Almodóvar's queer western short Strange Way Of Life; Hirokazu Kore-Eda's film Monster; James Mangold's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny; Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest; Martin Scorsese's Killers Of The Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone; Karim Aïnouz's Firebrand starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law; the HBO series The Idol, starring Lily-Rose Depp with Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Wes Anderson's Asteroid City.

Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc became the hotspot for celebrities looking to let their hair down like Leonardo DiCaprio, Scarlett Johansson, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Gaspar Noé and Lily-Rose Depp who all attended the various Soirées & Cocktail Events.

Graydon Carter and David Zaslav hosted the Air Mail Warner Bros Discovery party, the Red Sea International Film Festival linked with Vanity Fair Europe to host the Women's Stories Gala After Party and the 29th edition of amfAR Gala was hosted by Aston Martin and Clase Azul Tequila.

The Short Films and La Cinef Jury presided by Ildikó Enyedi and comprised of Ana Lily Amirpour, Shlomi Elkabetz, Charlotte Le Bon and Karidja Touré has awarded the 2023 La Cinef Prizes, Thursday, May 25, during a ceremony held in the Buñuel Theater, followed by the screening of the winning films.

Molly Manning Walker's How To Have Sex was awarded the top prize in the Cannes Un Certain Regard category, Friday, May 26th. Chaired by American actor John C. Reilly, the Jury included French director and screenwriter Alice Winocour, German actress Paula Beer, French-Cambodian director and producer Davy Chou and Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne.
